Hi there, just want to share with you my feelings... I start my weight loss journey November 4th and losing 14lb so far , tracking my calories and exercise at least twice a week, everything look smooth but deep inside still have doubts I will lose weight because my husband keep saying that I born fat and no way to be fit one day, that didn’t let me down I’m still doing what I suppose to do to lose weight but scared to not reaching my goal. My SW 270lb down to 256lb so far but need to be sure about what I’m doing and need your support 😭

Your husband is wrong. You absolutely can lose weight, by eating the appropriate amount; and you can get fitter by gradually increasing exercise.
Sometimes it scares people close to us when we want to change. It shakes up their world, and can sometimes make an unconfident partner think we want to improve ourselves and leave them.
If you go read posts in the "Success Stories" part of the forum, you'll find many who've done what you're working toward. You can do it, too.
I got fit in my mid 40s by becoming more active (even completing as an athlete), but still stayed fat because my eating kept me there. In 2015, after 30+ years of obesity, I lost from class 1 obese to a healthy weight at age 59-60, and have stayed at a healthy weight since.
With patience and persistence, you can reach your goals. Focus on what you personally can control, and don't let others' opinions stop you.
Best wishes! :flowerforyou:10 -
It's definitely not true, but I'd recommend not worrying so much about things like "fit" or your goal. Just worry about what is in front of you. Being 256 pounds is and improvement from being 270 pounds and being 245 pounds will be an improvement from being 256 pounds, and on and on. If the end game is scary for you, just focus on the journey. No matter what, every bit of progress is worth celebrating and being proud of.11

Well done on your weight loss so far. Each pound is a step forwards. Those closest to us should be our supporters but often they are worried we will change internally as well as externally and they have a wobbly moment....🙄
Do this for you ❤️
We will be here to support and encourage you.
We can do this!!!

Nobody is born fat. Babies are chubby because they need to be, but everything after that is up to you.3

I think everyone has that fear at some point and that is especially true if you are like me and failed many times to do it. I chose to approach it differently this time. My main goal is to get healthier. I accomplish this each day I am in a calorie deficit and/or exercise. The next day I start again. Facing a single day is not all that daunting most of the time. If I screw up today then tomorrow brings a new day and a new chance. According to my math about 88 percent of my days have ended in a calorie deficit. The other 12 percent were either days that did not go so well or special occasion days that I purposefully relaxed and enjoyed myself.
Over the course of nearly 2 years my weight has been reduced by more than you currently weigh. If you check out the "Success" subforum you will see others are also shedding or have finished losing their weight too. It can be done. 667 days ago I am sure I did not think it was ever going to happen for me but is is.7 -
Totally incorrect. Ignore that mean comment3

You are working to lose weight because you decided that it right for you. Stay focused on your reason(s) and don’t put value into the words of naysayers.4

Whenever he says something like that just smile and nod, keep working hard to reach your goals and have fun proving him wrong!!!3

He should be supporting you, encouraging you!! And tell him that. It would bother me a LOT if my dh said something like that to me.
Your goal IS doable, but it's entirely up to you! And yes, definitely take a look at all the transformation pictures that people are so kind to post! They've been there and are in many different paths along their individual journeys, all very inspiring!! Read on the forums here because these people are smart and filled with insight and support. Plus tracking your CICO will be very helpful; it's been one of the major factors in my sticking to healthier eating.
You WILL and CAN do this!! And then you can turn to him and say ' see honey?? Told you so!' But whatever you do, don't let him plant seeds of doubt in your mind. Think positive can-do thoughts!!2 -
I have some choice words for your husband, but it will get me kicked off the site, so I will refrain.3

Sounds like an abusive partner...recommend reading up on Narcissism.
A Narcissist called me fat when I weighed my goal weight...20 kg lighter than I am now.😡2 -

Narcissists are threatened by any person who is bettering themselves...instead of getting healthy with them they seek to drag their partners down to their toxic level & keep them there.1
