Making small changes for long term goal

Hi my name is Tammy and I am 51 years old and have some health issues the last 3 years.
I have tried hundreds of diets over the years and have lost weight only to gain it back when I quit
doing that diet.
I decided to try MFP again and this time just commit to log on everyday for 365 days and try to
make better choices and learn what works for others.
What I am doing
losing weight slowly, feeling better about myself (mostly from the caring, supportive friends on here) who are teaching me
to forgive myself and not try to be perfect.
I realize this will only work if I do it in a way that I can live with for the rest of my life.
So no drastic exercise program -can't anyway with health issues
no drastic eating changes - small steps to healthier choices and being more aware
I am looking for more friends that are in the same mind set.
To enjoy the journey, take baby steps to being healthier and smaller and what I am just now realizing
is the most important thing (Learning to love myself the way I am now and not wait until I lose that 60 pounds I hope
to eventually lose).

Hello
I joined in June but then had to take time out and have just come back to MFP today. Shock horror but I managed to go from 83kg to 85.5kg. I'm 54 yrs old and just like you I tried every diet and pill going and once I loose the weight I put it back on again. However, I've not been this weight for 8 years (this is bad and depressing). I really want to change my habits and my mind set. I would like to make small changes and small steady steps as well so that I can make a habit of this. I'm too old to keep on yo-yoing, I'm getting bored and depressed with my attitude and my weakness to food. I would very much appreciate your help and support. Please add me. I can't ask for help or support from family because I dare not let them know how much weight I've put on (the only one who can see me but dare not comment is my husband).
I'm very annoyed with myself and really wish to change. Can anyone support me? I would love to support anyone who needs my support.
Thank you and good luck to you all and well done to those who have already lost some way and are going in the right direction.0
