The Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC) provides both weight losers and maintainers with incredible accountability partners AND an emphasis on life-changing healthy basic habits.
This is not the flash-in-the-pan 'biggest anything" short-term challenge. This is the real deal!! We are a non-commercial volunteer group with a proven track record of significant team member success.
We enthusiastically welcome our returning veterans and newcomers too!
The accountability is a daily report of:
1)More than 20 minutes of daily exercise;
2) Tracking the caloric intake of both food and beverage;
3) Consuming no more than your chosen limit of daily calories
4)Daily or every third day reporting of your fulfillment of the above.
A non-fulfillment of any of the above equals a Pass Day. There are 3 Pass Days allowed per month
Those who end the month with less than 4 Pass days are celebrated in the monthly Winner's Circle Qualification.

I love this challenge. It's simple and gives you flexibility to set your own goals within the 3 simple rules. So it works for those loosing, maintaining or even looking to increase weight. A beginner to exercise can do a simple walk or a someone with the time and experience can do multiple complex exercises and it still falls within this challenge. Obviously we all aim for winners circle but if you don't hit that goal you are still encouraged to stay and continue the challenge. Ultimately every day you hit these three goals for yourself you win, regardless of the winners circle at the end of the month.5

I love this brilliant group for support and accountability. I have been a member for over a year now, and the daily posting fosters focus and good habits. Daily aims are deceptively simple. And the three pass days give you leeway for holidays/ celebrations.
As an added bonus, if you get to the end of the month with less than 4 pass days, you get to be in the Winners Circle.
But, in truth, everyone who keeps posting for the whole month is a winner.
Our fearless leader @RangerRickL inspires and motivates us to be the best we can. Many thanks, pal!

UAC is my motivator to adhere to a program with meaningful and attainable goals. Each day is either a day to prove yourself to be on track or a day to start anew. Everyone is encouraging, friendly and hospitable sharing words of wisdom from their own journey that might be helpful in yours, as well. There is no judgment, and the flexibility in the UAC program will accommodate everyone. Will be my second month in the UAC. I am new to the group but not new to the journey. My goal is not to lose weight but to remain in health. It is relatively “easy” to lose weight. Staying in goal is the hardest part to me because reaching goal is not the end of the journey, it is merely the beginning. Some of us have been on this journey for a while and we all know what to do but fall short of doing what is necessary to remain focused for a significant time and then give up. If we remember to focus on the basics and stay on the path, we will be successful in anything that we set our minds to. That is what UAC means to me, remaining on the path and keeping it simple because my journey is not a sprint it’s a marathon. The simpler I can make my journey , the better. I too, like a few members, would like to keep my anonymity but I will try to provide the support when I can.
Thanks @RangerRickL for all your efforts. I truly appreciate you and all the supportive people in the community.

It’s simple but it isn’t easy, UAC is the best challenge. January will mark a full year of participation for me. In this year I feel like I’ve really developed my three winning habits. Even when I don’t make the winners circle (it’s about 50/50) I’m a total winner for participating.
I know that these three habits are the key to my success. I’ve lost a total of 92lbs over the last 2.5years. In the last year, as my loss slowed down, the UAC really helped me understand that this journey isn’t just a number on the scale but the lifestyle.
My personal pitfall is thinking I’m a pro and getting fast and loose with my serving sizes and calories. UAC keeps me tracking and logging which keeps me weighing and measuring my portions.
I can not say enough good things about UAC and the inspiring, supportive people who participate!!!!3 -
January will be my 5th month with the UAC. The group is friendly and supportive, and the challenge adds extra structure to my day beyond the MFP newsfeed, so I keep signing up. I've gone from obese to normal in the past year. It's vital for my health that I maintain my weight.5

UAC is a great group and a fantastic way to keep your motivation high and not go crazy with cheat days or meals. I was a participant here while losing the weight several years ago and just recently found the group again, thinking December was a great month for accountability.
I managed not to gain weight this holiday season which is huge and even though I've been fighting a couple of physical issues (hip PT and now vertigo) I've managed to hang in there. I took my 3 pass days and still don't know if I'll manage the exercise of the challenge until Tuesday but I'm going to try!
Good luck to everyone next month! I'm hoping to be vertigo free and enjoying my normal workouts at the gym and walking/hiking locally here in So Cal!6 -

If you are looking for a challenge on MFP, this is both the hardest and the BEST. It works both for losing weight and maintaining.
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/134997-ultimate-accountability-challenge-january-2020
Most who start a New Years Resolution to get fit or lose weight lose resolve in the first 2 weeks because they change too much or go too hard to maintain.
UAC takes a different approach. Small manageable daily tasks, but keep it up for at least 28 days in a 31 day month.- No weigh-ins.
- No mandated activity (you get to choose).
- No externally set calorie limits (you get to choose).
The rules are simple:- Track what you eat/drink
- Stay within you nominated calorie budget
- Get at least 20 mins activity per day
Don't let the simplicity fool you. Most lake a couple of months to be able to successfully complete a month of this challenge as it requires consistent effort.
The group is super supportive and very knowledgeable.
Some are losing weight. Some are in maintenance. Some are training for personal goals. All welcome to try.2 -
Dear MFP-er!
Whether you are just beginning, in the middle, about to reach your goal weight, or navigating maintenance, I cannot recommend the UAC group enough!
I joined UAC April 2018, (21 months ago), weighing 176.6, already having lost 57.1 pounds from 228.3 since Jan 2017 on my own & using another app.)
My goal was 169, BMI 25 for 5’9”
Then I realized I was shorter, so shifted to 166.
Then realized I needed to lose more.
Eventually got down as low as 150.2 before realizing 153-155 was a good maintenance range for me.
Then I tackled maintenance...
ALL through this journey, UAC has been invaluable!
Every day I remember the 3 UAC tenets: exercise > 20 mins, calories under the goal I set, track all.
It works.
My 2018 avg weight was 168
My 2019 avg weight is 155.
Longest time maintaining in my Life❣️❣️❣️
Invaluable.
UAC is my life preserver. UAC is a my friendly home “where everyone knows your name”, UAC works.
UAC reminds me it is the daily habits that yield success. UAC is filled with people who are doing this ... proof that I can...and you can, too!
💕Maddie
One tip: do not give yourself just a week or a month in UAC. It might take a couple of months to get the hang of it, but you WILL - and we are all here to help!4 -

December was my very first month joining UAC. Going into December, I thought best case was that I would maintain my weight. Instead, I am down my normal 2 pounds and super close to my maintenance range! I credit the UAC group for keeping me on track.
It's a great group! Come join us!3 -
