Ketogenic Diets? Are They Good for You?

I've been really looking into starting a more ketogenic diet, since I've seen some major success from the diet. But I looked up more information on the diet, and I'm confused. While it does say that the weight loss is increased for the first year, it does also have a side effect of fatigue and weakness, and also potentially increasing the mortality rate.

So I guess my question is: Is a Keto Diet worth it? And if so, can I still maintain a regular exercise routine? I would love to hear both sides of this, if I could.

If you mean the Atkins diet, I tried it and was so miserable that I knew I could not live like that long term.
Now, I'm eliminating 99% of grains from my diet. I feel much better because I can have some fruit and carb-containing vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, etc), with an occasional WASA rye cracker or KIND bar.

No need to do that. All you need to do is burn more than you eat. Why go without things you enjoy? If you start eating the carbs again you'll just gain. I think probably it's not a bad idea to cut back on them just no need to go overboard. I was eating rather low carb high protein and my doctor told me to stop as it was raising my cholesterol levels.
