For more than 3 months I’ve started this app and seeing specialists regarding weight loss and managing my thyroid (over a year) at the same time ... suddenly blood work showed it’s not producing enough and my body was starving for other nutritions... have you experienced any issues related to weight loss and thyroid issues? Feeling discouraged and I’m worrying.

I take artifical thyroid and have since I was a teen. I am 59 years old now, so its been a long time. What I have learned is that if the level is too low, weight loss is hard. If its too high my heart races and weight come off slowly. Blood work keeps me at the right level. I do have to use the non-generic brand of medication as the generic brands are absorbed differently and I could not keep the right level in my blood because the stores will change their generic brands all the time.

Eating anything with soy interferes with my levels so I avoid it, no soy sauce, nothing with soy beans.

When my blood work is done they always check for B and D vitamin and they seem to be off when the thyroid is off too. My dr will prescribe very high levels of D3 and B vitamins as needed.

I can go low or high throughout the year and usually experience an annual weight gain/loss of 10-15 lbs even if I eat the same. Off all meds, really feel best when I get in daily outdoor exercise. Seems to kick the thyroid in high gear. If I don't exercise, feels like a steady energy decline.
