2 lbs a week

35 days in, and I've lost 17 pounds just watching diet and doing some light exercise. I'm about to crank up more regular exercise with daily walks and some "Couch to 5K" thrown in. Registered for my first 5K in October. I'm nearly halfway to my target weight, and I'd like to get there by year's end. I figure that, the closer I get, the harder it will be to lose pounds, so I'm trying to keep the timeline realistic.

Afterwards, who knows? I'd like to run a 10K or two next spring. And I have a friend who's willing to do a Tough Mudder with me next year. The latter might encourage me to do more strength training in the future. One day at a time though. MFP has helped me with some important lifestyle changes and altered the way I look at food. And for that, I'm grateful.

17lbs!!! Look at you! Keep it up! At the rate you're going, you'll be able to stay on track and get to where you want to be the HEALTHY way!

I've been working on just being able to run a mile without stopping for the past 3 weeks! Now I can do 1.5 miles! I'm doing a ZOMBIE run in October and I'm SO excited for it! This will be my first 5k and even if I don't make it to the end with all of my flags intact with my belt, I WILL make it to the end and that's all that matters to me!

Good luck and don't forget to keep us updated!
