Splenda Yam Brownies

Better have several copies of this recipe on hand when you serve them! These moist, flavorful, delicious brownies are simply out of this world, possibly heaven.

INGREDIENTS
* ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
* 1 cup SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
* ¼ cup light molasses
* 1 cup cholesterol-free egg product
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 2 cups cake flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* ½ teaspoon baking soda
* ½ teaspoon salt
* 2 cups peeled and finely shredded yam

* ½ cup SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
* 2 tablespoons light butter, melted
* 2 tablespoons milk

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, stir together the SPLENDA® Granulated Sweetener, and molasses until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the batter just until blended. Fold in the shredded yam. Spread the batter evenly in the greased baking dish.

Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center, comes out clean. Mix together the SPLENDA®, butter and milk until smooth. Spread over the brownies while they are still warm. They will absorb some of the glaze. Serve hot or warm.

    They are good. I added a 1/2 cup of walnuts.

    Of course they don't taste like a brownie at all. I think next time I will add some unsweetened cocoa powder to them and make a real chocolate brownie.

    Is the recipe missing the chocolate? I guess I assumed brownies had chocolate. Bet Hersheys Special Edition Dark Cocoa Unsweetened would be good with this?

    How much do you think I should add though?
