Hi! I am doing 16 hrs. fasting and 8 hrs. eating every day and never eat my allowed calories, so I've been losing 0.5 lbs. this way every day. Any others over 60 out there doing IF, please let me know to friend me ๐

That's really fast weight loss. If you've been doing this for more than 2 weeks and still losing at that rate, you might want to look at your calorie intake. Fast weight loss comes with a cost to your health.9

You're rate of loss is excessive and not sustainable. There are lots of reasons why this is not a good idea. Lean mass loss, hair loss, brittle nails and possible organ damage.
I am 68. I've done IF on and off for 10 years when I'm cutting calories. If you can't get a reasonable amount of calories doing 16/8, maybe it's the wrong approach for you.7 -
I'm in my 60's and began 16:8 IF 4 days ago. I'm hoping to get better sleep as I read that is a benefit. Also want to lose weight and maintain it. It is hard to fast in the morning. I'm trying to eat between 11-7 or 12-8 depending on the day's activities. I have to stay away from my kitchen or even go out because by about 10 a.m I am famished.0

You just started so, I'd give it a couple of weeks to see if you adjust. I used to feel that way but now, a couple of cups of black coffee and I'm on my way about my day. I weight train fasted and it works out fine for me.
If after a few weeks it hasn't gotten easier, maybe it's not for you. Or maybe, eat in the morning and skip lunch. there is only minor benefit to having the fasting window be consecutive and only if your insulin resistant. The primary deal for IF is calorie control. There are no hard rules. It's all about what's sustainable for you.5 -
