Is the knee pain recent or an ongoing problem? Have you seen a doctor about it? Is this level of exercise new to you?
There are a lot of things that cause knee pain, so it's hard to give specific advice. Going up and down steps would aggravate some knee injuries. If you're not used to working out at this intensity, then you may be experiencing an overuse injury, and resting would be the safest thing to do for now. However, without knowing exactly what's wrong with your knee, we can't really say.1 -
6 hrs of cardio is a lot, it could simply be over use.
Also, where is the pain in your knee? Front on top or bottom of knee cap? Sides? Back?0 -
Talk to the instructor before class and be prepared to modify as needed during the workout.0

Have your knee checked by a doctor. It could be something simple now like a mild tendon tear, or your cartilage could be deteriorating which is serious and must be addressed now if you want to avoid a knee replacement.0
