If I am especially sore I will walk or do yoga. Something low impact.

Change it up! I murdered my legs on a century ride day 1 of the new year, so day 2 was a weight regiment that I forgot to log. :) Flip-flopping between muscle groups helps a lot!

If I’m sore I’ll generally try to spend more time warming up for the next workout so I can gently loosen things up. I also try to workout at times when I know I can take a bit of extra time after my workout for more stretching, foam rolling, and sauna/spa time.
For just getting through a workout when I’m already sore, I try to do something targeting different body parts, or just take it a little slower in my workout.

Start slower and build up. I'll be back in the weight room starting Monday after a 3 month hiatus...I will probably only hit the weight room once next week, twice the following week, and back to my 3x per week by week 3. In between I'll likely do a lot of walking, some easy recovery road rides, yoga, etc. I figure it'll be about a month until I can get back to what I was doing 3-4 months ago.
