It's important to do and focus on what matters so you're not wasting your time and efforts on things that won't get you what you want

    Drinking 1 gallon of water:
Water keeps you hydrated but doesn't directly impact weight loss and drinking X amount of water per day isn't required. Everything you drink (soft drinks/soda, tea, coffee, milk, beer) is all pretty much 99.9% water and contributes to keeping you hydrated. Just drink enough fluids so you're not thirsty. You can be sure you're adequately hydrated when your 2nd pee of the day is a pale yellow.

    No snacking after 10pm
Calories don't have a watch, they don't know what time they're being eaten. Meal timing and when you eat won't make any difference as long as the number of calories you're eating remains the same. If you tend to get hungry at night then save up a few calories for a late night snack. You're far better off working WITH your natural tenancies than trying to fight against them.

    Track every meal
100% focus all your attention on this. THIS is what you need to focus on if nothing else but there needs to be one more element. Accuracy. You should accurately track every meal so that you can ensure that you're hitting your calorie targets. This is what matters more than anything else

    Go to the gym
Great for getting fitter, very minimal impact on weight loss. That's not to say that you shouldn't work out as there's definite health benefits but don't look to exercise as a weight loss tool. Weight loss happens in the kitchen, fitness happens in the gym.

    G'luck
