Bought my car brand new 66 months (5.5 yrs) ago, and finally paid it off! One month before my 30th birthday also! Yay! It's a great feeling! I feel accomplished.

Mine is coming to an end in less than 8 months I cannot wait to have it paid off .
Best thing I ever did though new cars are so much safer and cheaper to drive.
Awesome0 -
I bought my car a little over three years ago for $875 cash. That the beast still moves in a forward trajectory is a flipping miracle. I will do the same thing when this one finally calls it quits, although I might spend around a grand next time in hopes the a/c still works after 6 months. Congrats on paying of your car!0

It does feel amazing. Thanks guys!
It'll be nice to have an extra $300/mo to save/spend. I'm going to wait on buying a new one for a while. My car is still great, and I love it. Why put myself into more payments now?... Going to enjoy it for a bit!0 -
Ugh I cant wait for that day...CONGRATULATIONS!0

You know if you save that $300/mo like you still had a car payment, in three years you would be able to buy a $10,000 car..paid off.0 -

You know she doesn't care TyTy0 -
I know that TyTy, although I plan on keeping this car as long as possible.. and I did mention saving, by the way. But thank you for your input.
And Cliff, that was kind presumptuous. I do care, hence why I mentioned saving.0 -

You should know by now that no matter what the topic is people will come in and p*ss on your parade.
Good for you for paying off your car. That's one less expense you have to worry about. I have never had a car payment in my life. I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with close to 229,000 miles on it and I plan on running it into the ground. When she dies I'm going to get a "new to me car" that I can throw down cash for. I'm not into new cars that depreciate the second you drive them off the lot. For most people it's a status thing. For me it's a get from point A to point B thing. I don't need anything fancy for going to the gym and grocery store.0 -

Yeah, I imagined so. It's just odd how people find joy in stirring up problems for absolutely no reason. But, to each their own! Right??

I was not trying to piss on anyone's parade.
I was passing on a bit of information that until a few weeks ago, I never would of considered myself.
Good Job OP!
You can now spend that $300 on hookers and blow!0 -

That guy changed my life when I was a single mom. My dad and I read his books together. Seriously, life-changing.0 -

Congrats! Wife and I have two vehicles and haven't had a car payment in 5 years.....and we just paid off our home last february.....that's a GGGRrrreat feeling!0

Awesome! I hate car payments. I just bought a used SUV cash. Not sure I'll every buy new. Doesn't seem worth it.0
-
I know that feeling! I just paid off my car 2 months ago. Having that extra $530 a month is helping me pay off other things :drinker: :drinker:0

I will be 32 when I pay off my car and 50 when I pay off my house. I have a long way to go before there is a light at the end of my tunnel. Then being a NYorker the light at the end of the tunnel is only Jersey anyway :laugh:0
