happy New Year 2020! I’ve been on here since 2012! Overall I’ve been able to stay within a goal range ( 129 -147) that I felt comfortable with! Obviously, I like the lower numbers, but as soon as I hit 147 in the past, I knew it was time to buckle down. For some reason, I lost that motivation over the last 2 years and my weight crept up to an all time high of 161. Worst part, is my lack of motivation is having an affect on my family and they are not making as healthy decisions! That’s when it really hit me! Family wellness 2020! ☺️

    Good.

    Welcome back. :flowerforyou:

I wish I could intuitively stay effortlessly at weight, but I need to see numbers in front of me every day.

There is no finish line. Maintaining sometimes I keep a food diary, sometimes I don’t. Depends on where I am in relation to GW. But ask me anytime how many calories I’ve eaten today, I can give you a number.

And the issue for me is calorie creep. Just a few extra here and there. I’m not going to run off the rails scarfing down large pizzas and plates of enchiladas. It’s going to be a little here, some extra there. That’s never going away.

    Exactly, @88olds

I've been in maintenance for a lot of years, but if I had my preference I'd eat about 400 calories more per day. I know I don't need them. I know I've been fine on the calories I do have, but still I want extra food throughout the day and for me that would show up as an extra coffee with a couple cookies or a much bigger lunch than I currently have. There is a bit of restriction I have to do and I find that if I'm not logging I tend to say, "I'm having that."

Like you it's not a giant pizza...it's chips and salsa because it's on the countertop.
