The ones that you don't like eating in moderation.6

No foods prohibit weightloss. Calories are what matter for weightloss.
The starchy veg that I can think of all are pretty nutrient-dense. They tend to have more cals than non starchy veg.4 -
Excessive calories prohibit weight loss so if you are eating too many starchy vegetables also consider what you are pairing them with. A plain baked potato weighing 5oz is only 130 calories, but what makes it high in calories are the toppings (sour cream, butter, bacon).
ETA: the only starchy vegetables to steer clear from would be the fried varieties (i.e. french fries, potato chips) only because they are highly palatable and may trigger over eating leading to excess calories5 -
There is no vegetable that prohibits weight loss. There's no food that prohibits weight loss.3

If you love French fries so much you can’t eat a few without eating way over your calorie budget, you might want to avoid them. If you happen to hate sweet potatoes, you might want to steer clear of them. Otherwise, no, that is not a thing. Starchy vegetables aren’t magical and don’t prevent weight loss when eaten as part of a caloric deficit.2

No specific food prohibits weight loss. Losing weight and weight management in general is about energy (calorie) balance or lack thereof. Starchy vegetables will have more calories than non starchy veg, but they are also nutrient dense foods...look at the nutritional profile of a potato for example...bomb nutrition.3 -
All of them! Pack them up nicely and overnight them to me! I will "dispose" of them for you. 🤥 I particularly like to dispose of sweet potatoes.cwolfman13 wrote: »Are there any starchy vegetables that prohitbit weightloss that I should stear clear from?

The satiety of plain boiled potatoes was actually rated the highest of all foods tested in 1997.4 -
I've found it best to stay away from starchy corn in the form of Trader Joe's corn chips because I immediately lose all control and eat the entire bag.
It isn't the starchy vegetables' fault. It's my fault, but I find it best to avoid certain triggers.1
