Need some encouragement

For several years I have been somewhat health conscious but always had trouble getting over that proverbial hump. A big change has occurred in my life recently that is pushing me to reach my goals. However I need some community support and encouragement. I am 35 years old, 5'8 and usually around 160 lbs. I don't really have a weight goal but I want to be lean, feel fit and look amazing.

What's your advice for utilizing this website and community?

    Deciding whether you want to build muscle, lose fat, or maintain your current state is a good first step. Use that information to set up your calorie and macro goals on MFP.

    Next I would buy a good scale and learn to measure and log all of your food.

    Building a community of supportive friends helps make the journey more fun and keeps you accountable.
