Unexpected inspiration & motivation

I recently began reading Atomic Habits by James Clear as a learning opportunity to make improvements in my work environment. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how much of his writings can make a tremendous difference in my personal life as well!
Some of my favorite quotes taken from the book and his weekly newsletter so far:
Your body adapts to what you eat.
Your mind adapts to what you consume.
Your soul adapts to what you love.
What you feed yourself today is who you become tomorrow.
An imperfect start can always be improved, but obsessing over a perfect plan will never take you anywhere on its own.
You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
Your goal is your desired outcome. Your system is the collection of daily habits that will get you there.
This year, spend less time focusing on outcomes and more time focusing on the habits that precede the results.
Time magnifies the margin between success and failure. It will multiply whatever you feed it. Good habits make time your ally. Bad habits make time your enemy.
“People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures.”
I could go on and on...this is seriously a great read!

I agreed with most of it. He used the expression "junk food" several times and his accountability example when it came to weight loss was far too harsh and extreme. It might work for some people but it does not take into account some of his other points of small changes and accepting imperfection.
With that said he definitely opened my eyes to a few things. It turns out I was doing a lot of things right but failing to use the same methods in other areas of my life because I was doing it intuitively. Once I realized what I was doing it was not hard to start making other positive habit changes.3 -
Thank you for sharing that! Going to check and see if I can find it locally, if not, off to amazon I go.1
