What is low carb exactly?

Is there a consensus on the range where a low carb should just change to keto? I’ve done keto, but it’s not my lifestyle. I’ve had success with a low carb. Between 80-100g/day. I increased to 180, or 45% macro. I leveled off and would l8ke to start the year off w/ a nice 5# of cookie lose. I’m torn between a going full keto for a time or just low carb...and what low carb is enough?

Not sure what you mean by "what low carb is enough?" You don't need to go low carb to lose weight...low carb can be an easy way for some people to create a calorie deficit. I don't necessarily go low carb when I'm trying to drop some weight, but I usually cut carbs by not having grains or starches with two of my meals...I don't count calories, so that's just an easy way for me to eliminate calories I would typically have.

Low carb is generally considered to be anything below 130 grams. Keto is generally anything below 50 grams.

Along the lines of the above post, any amount of carbs that helps you achieve a calorie deficit is low (or high) enough.

What helps me is simply reducing starchy foods a little and increasing non-starchy veg (and protein) a little.

I like Christopher Gardner's idea of "Limbo Titrate Quantity". If you want to try low carb, go low (limbo). Then titrate up to a level you can sustain over the long haul. Jmho

Seriously, though, if your only goal is to lose weight, the number or percentage of carbs you eat is just personal preference, which includes effects on adherence.
