Strong, not skinny. Add me!

Hello! I'm Skyelar, 27, mom of 2 young boys and I've been "struggling" with my weight since basically I started eating solid food 🙃 I'm alone in my house trying to make better food choices so I'd love to connect with people in my shoes.
I'm currently 270lbs, aiming for 200 by the end of the year. I'm interested in eating lower carb, higher fat and protein, as well as lifting weights to lose fat and get strong. Ultimately my goal is to be fit enough to save my children's life if it would come to it, but I can't lift my own weight where I'm starting.
In 2017 I went from 260 to 200 and only desire to be that weight for now, even though by BMI I could stand to lose 120 or so. Don't really care, I just want to feel good in my skin, be able to chase my kids around, buy clothes in stores again, and lose my food obsession. Plus, curves are sexy and I don't care to lose ALL my softness 😊

hey Skyelar! Great goals and even greater why! I'm currently down 50lbs and at 270lbs. Your diet will be 80-90% of your success. The gym goals will dictate how your body changes. Look into stronglifts 5x5 to get you started on the weight lifting. It is what i'm using currently to great success. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Don't beat yourself up if you mess up. Would you stop brushing your teeth if you didn't brush one day because your kid put your toothbrush in the toilet? nope you'd start again the next day. Feel free to add me on here and if you ever have questions just ask. I'm more then willing to help those on their journey we call life!

Hello Skyelar! We share the same story (except the age)... I just saw a dietitian last night who told me to start logging my food to see if we can spot where what exactly I need to correct - so I'm here I am. My goal is to refocus and reset in 2020 and establish some better habits. Looking for a group trying to do the same. Good luck on your journey!
