Weight lifting shoes plantar fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis can come and go. I wear wide turf shoes for soccer with stiff arch inserts. I wear open toed sandals with mild flexible arch support for every day activities, but will get symptoms if walking on hard pavement for more than 20 minutes. I walk barefoot on the beach and sometimes at home, so I don't become dependent on arch support. I do daily physio exercises to strengthen the arch, stretch calves etc. I prefer to workout in socks (so I can feel my feet grip the ground), but my gym requires shoes. I've been wearing a temporary pair but am considering shoes specific to weight-lifting. Right now, I don't feel any foot pain when lifting (e.g. barbell squats etc), and am using casual open toed walking/hiking shoe that has mild arch support until I get proper shoes.

If you have plantar fasciitis, what kind of weight lifting shoes are you wearing and why? What do you personally look for?

I'm female, so if you also have specific women's brand/models that you found works for you, please also list and what characteristics you look for that seem to work for you.

Thanks!
