Counting Calories

So right now I’m on a goal to lose as much weight as possible and I want some tips to help me in this situation. So I just got to college and my pantry is all stocked up with food and I want to plan meals for each day so that it reaches my daily caloric intake but it’s mainly processed food. Will I still be able to lose weight just by counting calories?

Single word answer, yes. Weight loss is all about calories. Good health though, requires good nutrition, so do try to get some fresh fruit and veggies in there too

Whether or not you consider your food to be “processed” has nothing to do with fat loss. Fat loss is 100% caused by a consistent calorie deficit, not by the specific foods you eat or how those foods are made.5

Some people tend to find some highly processed foods not very filling, but it's very individual.
If that's true for you, you may find that it's harder to stick to reduced calories if you don't feel full.
Otherwise, it makes no difference: Calories are calories.5 -
Eating less calories than your body burns is how weight is lost, no matter what plan you are on, or what foods you eat. Yes, you can lose eating processed foods, as long as you’re at a calorie deficit.3
