30 day vegetarian diet to 5K/30 day whole food diet to 5K

Hi,
I was an active my fitness pal member around 10 years ago. I am now a husband and father of two wonderful children. Over the past 8 years I have gained weight and body fat. More importantly I am concerned what kind of damage I have caused inside my body, especially considering my families negative history with health issues. I am going to take a whole month to train for a 5K with a vegetarian diet well logging not only my food and exercises but how I feel internally. Then I want to do another month on a whole food diet with a 5K at the end. I am not doing this to improve my appearance, although that usually comes with it. This is to track how I feel internally, as well as have healthy levels of blood pressure, cholesterol, and so on. I am also getting blood drawn to check my levels. I am looking for any friends who might post suggestions on anything relating to a vegetarian diet or whole food diet. Or any other friends with some positive feedback. Thank you in advance.
