Cold Weather Walks

Walking in the cold brings all sorts of thoughts to my mind. Including one especially pointless question that I hope someone nevertheless humours me on 😊 when taking a walk in the cold, why do your upper legs/thighs get REALLY cold while your calves and feet are toasty warm? Are there more blood vessels in your calves or something? I would think since the calves are thinner, they’d store less heat. Have any of you ever wondered about this?
