Any exercises to build up a bad back?
I have mainly muscle pain and very weak core muscles from 2 kids. Need to build up strength before doing proper ab exercise as scared to make my back worse

I would say general strength training would help a lot. Deadlifting is great for building lower back strength (provided done right and sensibly, probably with guidance to ensure your form is right when you are getting started). Planks are good for core strength. Pilates are good for core strength too. My back and abs were also absolutely useless for a while after I had my 2 kids, but I got it back again just through whole body strength training.

I had what I considered a 'bad back' for a long while and self diagnosed that I probably had weak back muscles that I needed to strengthen. Turns out I was completely off base. While visiting a physio to address a knee problem she told me that more than likely my back problems were related to my flexibility, particularly my horrendous hamstring flexibility.
