Positive Outlook

Hi!
Like many of you, I am starting a new journey — one of healthy eating, more exercise, and a positive outlook.
I hope that this time, the desire to feel better about myself outweighs my desire to over indulge in unhealthy foods. Time will tell, I guess...
So, let’s keep the positive vibes going, and support each other as we continue this adventure called life.

A positive outlook is very important and I think it is very important to choose and then try to make each day a happy day. It may not always work out but it always less likely to work if we do not put effort into it.
Try not to categorize food as healthy and unhealthy. It leads to unnecessary restriction. Since the only thing you absolutely must have is a calorie deficit to lose weight there is no reason to cut out anything you can successfully moderate. Often, for me, the more I restrict things the more it backfires. If I find ways to have moderate amounts of my treat food then I don't end up mad at myself and eating everything in sight.

I love your positive attitude here!
I wondered if you've looked into groups here on MFP. I am part of a group centered on overeating and food addiction, and based on what you wrote here, you might find some support there. I know that I struggle with eating my emotions, overeating, and food addictions, and recognizing this has helped me somewhat on my journey of healing so that I can get a handle on my wellness.2
