Ohh Ladies...This goes out to you!

Yay! Let's talk about menstrual cycles! Ha!

Do you take a break from exercise when that time of the month is here? Does exercising help you alleviate the pain?

I've noticed that when I'm active and moving around or even a pretty hardcore exercise routine helps, but AFTERWARD??? That's a whole 'nother story. It's like...the pain intensifies. How do you ladies overcome it without having to shove 8 Pamprin down your throat? :/ What are your experiences with that?

Hello! I normally don't take a break when Aunt Flo is in town unless I am dying (I have skipped one day since I started back in March because of this).

I find that exercise actually helps with the cramps.

    One word...Tylenol

Working out during TOM never really bothers me. But, I'm fairly lucky that I don't have heavy or painful periods. Perhaps doing some yoga/stretching after an intense workout would help. Also, and I know some people will be appalled by this, you could consider pre-medicating if it happens every time. Take your pain medications before your workout to try to keep the pain from creeping up on you.

I've actually found that the intensity of my work outs is increased during TOM, so I still do my routine. I use Aleve for the cramping.

Thank you ladies! I will continue. I just hate using medication but I will CERTAINLY try some yoga!

It's becoming less and less of a problem for me (perimenopause) but I usually exercise but not as intensely. And I don't do ab exercises on heavy days because that just gives me cramps.
