Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

    Age: 41
    Sex: Female
    Height: 5'11"
    Total weight lost: 20 pounds
Time it took to lose: 2 months
How long in maintenance: 2 months
    Starting Weight: 164.8 (September 3rd, 2019)
    Goal Weight: 150 (Hit November 8th, 2019)
    Maintenance weight range: 147 - 153

Average weight recorded for September: 160.1
Average weight recorded for October: 154.0
Average weight recorded for November: 149.2
Average weight recorded for December: 146.4
Average weight recorded for January: 145.4

    Week of...
    February 2nd: 143.7(Trend Weight 144.1)
    February 9th: 144.0(Trend Weight 144.0)
    February 16th: 142.9(Trend Weight 143.3)
    February 23rd: 142.9 (Trend Weight 143.1)

Successes: Thankful for a stay put scale week. Had a couple days this week with higher calories, which just ended up with major stomach upset.

Struggles: Still averaging up to 1670 calories a day...that number needs to go up. I guess I have to be patient and go one week at a time.

Here is to a great week. See you in March!

    Week of
    February 2: 149.8 (Trend: 146.7)
    February 9: 145.5 (Trend: 146.6)
    February 16: 143.5 (Trend: 146.6)
    February 23: 144.5 (Trend: 145.7)

Struggles: Really need to figure out a way to eat slightly more consistently from work week to weekend.
    Successes:
Trend is moving down. I’d like to see how I operate with 145 being max, low being 140. Tinkering with the endgame is not something I expected when I started. Maintenance long term continues to be the goal, with a second goal of being physically capable to meet my athletic goals long term as well. Meeting that BQ marathon is useless if you can’t run in a year due to preventable injury.

    Total Weight lost: ~80 lbs
Time it took to lose: 2 years 3 months
How long in maintenance: I called maintenance in July 2016, but I continued to slowly lose until December of 2017. I have been in maintenance since December 2017
    Maintenance weight range: 115 - 120 lbs

Average weight recorded from 2018: 118.8
Average weight recorded from 2019: 115.2

Average weight recorded for November: 113.6
Average weight recorded from December: 114.2
Average weight recorded from January: 114.2

    Week of..
    Feb 2: 111.8 scale/113.3 trend
    Feb 9: 111.2 scale/ 113.2 trend
    Feb 16: 112.8 scale/ 113.5 trend
    Feb 23: 113.8 scale/ 113.7 trend

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm feeling good about my weight this week. It is up a little to where it really needs to be. It is still a little under range, but I am really ok with it being 115 +/- 2, so I think 113 is good.

How long in maintenance: Since ~ December 2018
    Maintenance weight range: 163-168

Average weight recorded for 2019: 162.8
Average weight recorded for December 2019: 162.6
Average weight recorded for January 2020: 162.2

    Week of...
    February 2nd: 159.4 (trend 161.3)
    February 9th: 158.9 (trend 161.6)
    February17th: 158.8 (trend 161.4)
    February 23rd: 163.3 (trend 161.6)

Successes: Eating out with friends and a higher calorie/salt day makes for wide daily swings. This has been one of the good things about logging/weighing on a regular, consistent basis - I know how my body responds to days like that, and the resultant temporary gain no longer bothers me. I should tamp down a little on the wider swings, though, as my blood pressure appears to be sensitive to salt intake.

    Have a great week, everyone!

Total weight lost: 55.4 kg (122 lbs)
Time it took to lose: 11 months
How long in maintenance: 2 months (06/01/20)
Maintenance weight range: 65kg +- 1.5kgs (143.5lbs +- 3lbs lbs) [N.B. Will reevaluate this range based on DEXA scan results - will get scan in a couple weeks time.]

    Monthly Averages:
    Jan 2020 average = 64.9 kgs (143.1 lbs)
    Feb 2020 average = 65.1 kgs (143.5 lbs)

    February weigh ins:
    Feb 03: 63.1 kgs (139.1 lbs)
    Feb 10: 65.5 kgs (144.4 lbs)
    Feb 17: 64.4 kgs (142.0 lbs)
    Feb 24: 67.4 kgs (148.6 lbs)
Feb average: 65.1 kgs (143.5 lbs)

Successes: Not worrying so much about the weekly weight variations. Calculating the month's average certainly puts it into perspective, as that has been pretty stable!

Struggles: Still tempted by stress eating, but I am mostly making good or okay choices rather than going off the rails. My weight is up a bit too high today, but I ate some biltong yesterday and that's really salty, so I suspect some of the extra weight is water. The other thing we did yesterday that might have had an impact - we spent the day at an amusement park. Went on some rides that definitely got the adrenaline going, and I felt really tired/drained at the end of the day - so possibly hormones could be having an impact as well. Will see what the scale says tomorrow!

    Maintenance weight range: 48 – 51 kg (106 – 112 lbs)

Average weight recorded from 2018: max 72.5 kg in July, 56 kg in Dec
Average weight 2019 : 49.8 kg – reached goal weight in April, average since then 48.7 kg

Average weight recorded in December 2019: 48.6 kg (107lb)
Average weight recorded for January: 49.8 kg (110 lb)

    February 17th: 51.8 kg (trend 50.8)
    February 24th: 51.6 kg (trend 51.1)

Successes/struggles: Nearly 6 weeks post-op and I’m much more active. I’m not supposed to drive but I’ve been out for short walks every day, I’ve been shopping, I’ve been cooking and doing more housework. As of this morning I’m going to resume weighing and logging my food. I see the consultant and physio on Wednesday and I’m hoping to get the OK to get back to normal activities. Weightlifting and gym resistance machines will obviously have to wait a while but it would be good to get back to more cardio work.
My weight has stayed below 52 kg so I’m happy with that. I’ll take it slowly but aim for 1kg loss as a first goal. I think all the water retention has virtually gone now, tummy’s still a bit sore but not swollen like it was.

Good luck everyone, see you all in March - spring is on its way!

My scale shows only 1/2 lb increments. No .2 or .4. I thought it was going to be a month of the same exact weight each weigh-in day but not quite. It was an easy week. No struggles.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm finally mostly recovered from being sick since early last week, though a good portion of this week was spent in recovery as well. My weight dropped quite a bit, likely from the illness, as well as from being unable to do strength training workouts. I'm starting up on some light cardio workouts again but still taking it easy.

I am not convinced my scale is telling me the truth. I've been away for about ten days, and I ate ALL THE FOOD, but didn't have access to a scale. This morning, it told me I actually lost a non-significant amount. How the heck did that happen. I guess I'll see what happens the next few days. I expected more damage.

Maintaining on vacation. Wow. We will actually see if it's true.

HEAVIEST weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
    Total Weight lost: 30 pounds
Time it took to lose: ~6 months
How long in maintenance: Since July 2018 -- but with some fluctuation outside of goal range.
Maintenance weight range: 142 - 148 (and not sure that's the right answer)

Average weight recorded from 2017 (12 months): 163.8
Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): 150.7
Average weight recorded from 2019 (12 months): 144.8

Average weight recorded from December 2019: 145.0
Average weight recorded from January 2020: 143.7

    Average weight Week of...
    January 27 - February 2......145.4
    February 3 - 9.....................144.1
    February 10 - 16................. 144.8
    February 17 - 23.................
    February 23 - March 1........ 144 ish

Success of the week: I was diving in Roatan, and I ate lots and lots and lots, but I came back home essentially the same weight as I left. I have no idea if I was fluctuating; I assumed I'd put on two or five pounds, but.... Wow.

Struggle of the week: Two days of travel with a 14-hour layover.

    Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
At this moment, I really want to have something to eat. I ate everything on my plan so far today. So now I have to figure out if I am really hungry or just "want to eat." Why is that so difficult?

    @425Recess
I don’t get clear hunger signals (I learned this when I was pregnant & would stop mid-bite.)
I sometimes feel “mouth hunger” generally when I’ve eaten out (more refined carbs, sugar, fats, and calories). One thing that helped me recently was the question someone posted, “What feelings are making me feel like eating more than usual now?” I thought about it, identified them, and reminded myself that regaining my lost weight would not help either situation. Went for a long walk.
