What is the difference in execution of the rear delt barbell row and the bent over barbell row? I understand one hits the back and the other the shoulders, I just don't quite understand the difference in how each is performed.
Thank you in advance!

Bent over row also utilizes your posterior chain, the hamstrings, glutes and spinal erectors. A typical delt row is seated or laying in the prone position so it's more of a isolation movement than a bent over row. Also, the pulling direction changes slightly between the 2 so you're hitting the same muscle group in different directions.1

In the rear delt version, your arms are higher, so the bar path is up around chest level, while for the standard version, it's more toward the belly. Try the arm motions in the air without a barbell and you'll see the difference.
You need a wider grip on the bar with the rear delt version.
Btw, they both use the same muscles, just the levels of emphasis are different.1
