Why I'm here

I have extremely high cholesterol which is managed by statins. Over the last 2 years through lifestyle changes I have reduced my weight from 227 to 190, reduced my bad cholesterol considerably, became a long distance swimmer, took up tennis, squash and windsurfing. 3 health issues remain: My triglycerides are still through the roof, I drink way too much alcohol and I dont watch my calorie intake...these 3 things are all connected to the tri's. So I've decided to give up alcohol for 30 days, become extremely conscious of what I eat and count every calorie so that after 30 days I can get my bloodwork redone to see if the triglycerides have been reduced. I've only just started using Myfitnesspal but it so helpful I wish I had of listened to my Wife at the onset of this venture! Now I'm not perfect, and I did slip up last night for the first time and had some wine and rum, although we had a 7.7 earthquake and a Tsunami warning so I consider that a good reason to have a drink. back on the wagon, saddle up and crack on.
