Help me establish a plan I can stick to

I’m 5”7 153 pounds, I’ve been seriously weight lifting for 7 months and I’ve put on a good amount of muscle. Haven’t had an actual bulking phase, just periods where I would lose some control and eat too much and periods of being in a deficit to cut fat back down. However I’m kind of stuck on what I should do next. I want to continue growing my booty, however I have a bit of belly fat that I would like gone as well. I’m not sure if I should lean bulk a few pounds and then slowly cut or cut right now for summer ?? If I decide to cut can I get away with losing a pound a week and keep my protein high or would I need to aim for a slower cut (0.5) lbs ? I know recomp is an option as well but I’ve been lifting heavy for a while I’m not sure if that would still work for me ? I want to at the very least maintain my glute gains and get my stomach completely flat. I would say I have about 5 pounds I could loose to be 100%

*also I started a cut 2 weeks ago but then I switched to attempting a lean bulk for the past week (because I really want to keep booty building) and I’ve been enjoying eating more and lifting but I can’t seem to stick to one path.

Does this lean bulking plan make sense ? Bulk slowly to 159 and then cut back down to 153 or would that be pointless ?

    I don't know if there's really time to bulk and then cut before summer. How many weeks are you thinking it would take for each cycle? My preference is recomp. Just keep pushing those weights. What program are you following?

    @sardelsa

    I am assuming you're female, trained per your discussion (though going back I see you've been lifting weights for less than one year) and have been using an established program (I suspect @satdelsa would suggest Bret Contreras' strong curves; but I could be wrong) and you're within the normal weight range but in the high 23's of normal BMI planning to bulk slowly to the top of normal weight.

    What I don't get is why are you just not trying to maintain your weight?

    Are you coming from a history of recently being lower or higher weight?

    Was there weight loss in recent history? How long ago? How much?

    Did you one day wake up and say I don't like 153 as a number? :smiley:

    Normally, most people wait till they are quite lean to bulk

    I like the number it’s just that I’ve read that bulking is the best way to gain muscle. Will I build glutes if I eat at maintenance ? And get leaner ? And yes I lost 60 pounds from last March

    Thanks for the tag @PAV8888 I didn't want to ignore it but if I'm not mistaken this might be the same person who doesn't prefer my input in her threads. If it is OP can ignore, if I am mistaken please let me know and I will gladly help

    If you're 60lb post weight loss and have been gaining a little bit and then losing it again plus episodes of intense hunger I would strongly advise to look at maintaining your weight over the next two years and not getting side tracked by bulk gain cycles.

    Programming and gym should build a substantially awesome body even without weight gain.

    My goal would be to establish a small perturbation maintenance and to extend that to the two and five year post weight loss mark.

    100% agree with PAV

    Ok, so you basically skimmed over my other questions about time frame for bulk/cut and programming...but yes, recomp is eating at maintenance while building muscle and losing fat=leaner.
