Although I vary walking my dog and using my gazelle, I enjoy yoga the most. I stay with it for a longer period of time, and the app counts a nice bit of exercise burned calories. Does anyone else like yoga as the main exercise?

I do chair yoga three times a week and mat yoga when my knees and lower back allow it. I love yoga but it is not my main exercise. I workout at the gym four times a week doing strength training, calisthenics and moderate cardio too. I like to mix things around.

I've had a couple phases in my fitness journey where yoga has been my main (sometimes only) activity. When I was most recently getting back into going to the gym after a period of inactivity and weight gain, yoga was where I started so I could gently get used to moving my body again.

Currently I don't do yoga as often as I should (I wish there was more time in the week for exercise - which is not the mindset I thought I would have 10 years ago), but I do generally fit in one aerial yoga class each week. It's definitely not the standard yoga flow, but it's very nice for tension release, and doing final meditation cocooned in a hammock feels so nice.

My partner's primary exercise is yoga. He's skipped yoga on 2 days in the past year - it's just a part of his daily routine now.

I just added yoga to my workout, it's not my main exercise though. It's making a faster difference than anything else, my trunk isn't very flexible as my back's fused and muscles compensate for it. My hip flexors are actually starting to loosen up in just a couple weeks. I daily do some form of cardio, strength training/weights, then Yoga with Adriene or a workout from Fit On. They're usually 30 minutes and under so it's perfect last and gets me relaxed and out of "attack mode" for the first part of my workouts.

I lived in yoga centers/ashram from 2001-2004 and at that time yoga was my main form of exercise, and many other people's as well.

I've been doing less of it over the years, but listening to Yoga for Emotional Flow: Free Your Emotions Through Yoga Breathing, Body Awareness, and Energetic Release helped me reconnect. There are no yoga asanas - the first CD is yoga philosophy and the second is guided meditation. It was good to be reminded of all the things I love about yoga.
