Little changes can keep exercise interesting and you motivated

I've been doing a lot of similar routines for years now: YAYOG, PiYO, and Fitness Blender weight training. Though I like them, the fun of "oh hey, this is challenging" or "I can do this now!" is lost.
Over the past year, I've been adding weight to my routines in unexpected ways to up the challenge factor. I am writing this post in particular because I'm surprised how challenging something as simple as 3-5 pound ankle weights can be!
If you find your routine a little dull but don't want or can't change it up too much, consider free weights, bands, and such. I'm actually motivated to work out again.
