I invented a new Sloppy Joe recipe today, and it worked out brilliantly! Even the picky "vegetables are nasty" members of my family digged it.
Brown 1lb of lean ground beef, turkey, or bison in 1 tablespoon of Olive or Coconut oil. Season with sea salt, black papper, and garlic powder to taste. Once meat is cooked through, add 1 cup blended canned beets and 1/4 cup of the beet juice, 1 cup shredded carrots, 1/2 cup of finely diced celery, and sloppy joe sauce. Let simmer for about 15 minutes. I served mine on hoagies, with avocado and baby kale for toppings. I also had a second serving with pepper jack cheese and red onions, both variations were amazing.
Enjoy. :-)
