Better to retain lean muscle mass now than to try to get it back after you lost the weight. Every single person that lifts has always said that they wished they started sooner.2 -

Also, do check out the weight trend apps as it sounds to me as if you have some monthly hormonal water retention that you will have to take into account moving forward.
