Does anyone have fatty liver?

How restrictive are your food choices now?

    Anything low/no carb.

Don't ask for medical advice on a open discussion board.

I was just told to lose weight rather than eat/not eat any specific foods.

There's a fatty liver diet -- used to be a poster here who was on it. It's the NASH diet, and I think is low fat and low sugar: https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/liver-disease/nafld-nash/eating-diet-nutrition

I believe most are just told to lose weight, though, and that usually helps. I'd ask your doctor if any specific diet would help and, if so, for a referral to a dietitian.

I was told a year ago that I have non alcoholic fatty liver and I spoke to a dietician. Her advice was to follow a Mediterranean diet. It is a lot like low carb.

I don't see how the Mediterranean diet is like low carb. It's basically similar to a standard healthy diet with a focus on veg, fruit, healthy sources of fat like fatty fish, olives and olive oil, nuts and seeds, and whole grains, with less meat than in the standard American diet, and cooking mostly (not entirely) from whole foods.
