Jealous siblings make me feel so insecure.

I have 2 sisters and they feel like everything is a competition. I have always been "the fat one" so they have always used me to make themselves feel better. Has anyone dealt with jealous people? I always feel like they are checking me out and criticizing me.

Oh gosh yes, people really do get jealous...I lost 45 lbs back in 2002 and although everyone was telling me I looked good, but at the same time they secretly hated me for being thinner than them!

People tend to not take change well and when you decide to start getting healthy, sometimes those closest to you, who you would think should be happy for you, can often respond in very unflattering ways.

You need to find a way to tune them out. Use it as fuel for your workouts. Don't allow what they say to seep in under your skin. The best revenge would be to get in shape and be HAPPY.

Make this about YOU and less about THEM.
  • I simply surround my self with positive people.

however I did have someone in my life who was jealous of me after I went down by 2 stones. I simply had a heart to heart conversation with that person.

I think sitting down and having a good chat over a tea is a great way of dealing with those kind of people.

Well I have never been that close to them, Thank God, but I just ignored them best I could and let them eat their silly hearts out!!

I have a sister who is the same. But she lives in Houston now so I avoid her and go on with my life. I am there if she needs me--but I had to draw a line. Life is not a competition--it just is........................
  • I know that this is mean but I use it as motivation. If they are jealous then it means you`re doing everything right. Unfortunately it is their issue and its sad.

I post passive-aggressive statuses on Facebook about how "Some people need to get over themselves".

Kidding :) A diret and honest conversation is the way to go.
