New and need to do this!

Hi all! I'm 61 years young, and have been struggling to drop 40 pounds now for over 2 years. Last straw was getting on the scale this month and seeing I'd gained an additional 10! I am pre-diabetic (hopefully still the case) with fasting BG averaging 124. My goals include: 1) Losing the stomach fat while dropping weight to increase my insulin sensitive, 2) Building strength and energy, and 3) Losing those dang 40 pounds!!!
