I have the Salter speedo ones which you'd think should be accurate, because they are supposed to be a good brand, but it's so hard to zero them. They're mechanical, not electronic. If I zero them, step on then off again the zero marker has shifted by about four pounds. Depending on where I stand on the scales, my weight reading changes by up to seven pounds. I really want some scales that give a single, accurate reading.

I got some weightwatchers ones out of Tesco years ago they have been fine, think they were about £15 at the time, they still have same ones in Argos now around same price.1

John Lewis glass digital scales.
Inexpensive (£20 ?), lasted many years so far, good battery life, choice of stones/pounds/kilos and completely accurate to a tiny fraction of a pound when tested against calibrated scales in a sports science lab.0
