Intermittent fasting and exercise

I need some advice.
I lost 2 and a half stone fasting during the week for 23 hours a day.
I want to try it again just for a little sculpt but I'm unsure how to work it around my pretty intense exercise routine.
Has anyone fasted safely around the gym. Is it okay to break the fast for a little just before a work out or is it safe to work out without eating during the day?

    Just experiment.

I typically eat supper at 6-7pm. And then am not hungry for breakfast, and often get busy and forget lunch. I am often(probably 5 days/week) fasted for 18-20hrs before food happens. I workout around hour 15 and have no problems. That said, I have always planned workouts around an empty stomach because it does not go well if I have eaten within 3 hours of a workout. I get super nauseous and sometimes puke. My workouts consist of heavy lifting, running, and sometimes some HIIT. Usually 1-1.5hrs long. I don’t struggle, get lightheaded, or any other ill effects. I have also hiked 20-25miles per day for a week at a time with the same food schedule. YMMV, but there is no harm is seeing how you feel. Maybe add some salt to water if you are a super heavy sweater or are working out in some high temps.

Some of this stuff is very individual.

Youngmomtaz does fine working out intensely for long workouts while fasted. I can't do more than 20 minutes-ish fasted at even what I'd call medium-high intensity without hitting a wall, and even the 20 minutes feels [miserable/i]. On the flip side, eating, then working out hard, doesn't cause me any digestive distress at all. You better believe I eat before I exercise! :)

Good advice from cmriverside about the effect (or lack of effect) of fasting on weight loss, as a universal kind of thing.

    Best wishes!
