I have lost 4st 7.7lbs in 8 months. Is that a good steady speed or should I have lost more? I did have a break off dieting for about 3 months before and over Christmas time. Tbh I have just been eating better and walking more but im thinking ill start going to the gym aswel.
How much weight have you lost and how long has it taken you?

1 stone = 6.3kg = 14 lbs for us here on the other side of the pond. So a quick calculation indicates about a 50lb loss. That is a good amount of weight, and without knowing your starting amount, that can make a huge difference in your look.
I dropped 40 lbs in about 5 months. About 1-2 lb a week and that seemed like a decent rate, and something I was able to adapt to and maintain essentially for 5 yrs (a few minor blips that I was able to reel back in with some re-commitment and dedication.2 -

Unless you have a medical situation that requires urgent weight loss, there is no such thing as weight loss that is too slow
Taking into account your diet break, that's quite rapid weight loss actually.
If I remember correctly, 1% of your body weight per week is considered a safe weight loss rate (and slower is not a bad thing).
I've lost 30 lbs over 7 months myself, which is about half of what I should lose in total. Slow and steady wins the race, I'm not in a hurry.

I cannot tell from you post if you started losing weight 8 months ago and took 3 months off meaning you were only in a deficit for 5 months or you started losing weight closer to a year ago and the total amount of time you were in a deficit is about 8 months.
Also since I do not know what weight you started out at I can't really comment on whether or not the rate of loss was good or far too aggressive.
In normal situations sustainability is far more important than speed. Most people who try to go fast end up losing a fraction of what they wanted to lose before they quit.
Does it feel good to be almost 64 pounds lighter? If so, does it matter if other people have lost weight faster or slower than you have?
