It takes approximately 3500 calories worth of deficit to lose 1 pound per week. So whatever your maintenance calories are - 500 per day would be your calorie goal.
The scale, however, will not move in a linear fashion each week. You will lose fat weight if you are in a calorie deficit but because your body weight fluctuates for other reasons your fat losses will sometimes be masked. Here is an article on that:

The important thing is to make sure you are eating what you think you are eating. It is commonly recommended to use a food scale to measure your portions so that you can log more accurately. Trying to use eyeballed portions or measuring cups for solid foods almost always ends in eating more than you think. The other thing to understand is that the MFP food database contains many errors. You need to personally verify the entries you use against the label or the USDA site. This includes green checked items and items scanned with a barcode. There are not guaranteed correct entries.
