Hey guys, what’s a good diet to follow for martial arts but primarily jujitsu.

Same thing as any athlete: A normal, well-balanced, nutritious diet with adequate protein; adequate healthy fats; enough fiber; plenty of varied, colorful veggies and fruits for micros.

Eat enough carbs that your energy level stays good (if that's an issue for you), but not so many that they spike appetite or lead to unpleasant peaks and valleys in energy level (if those are issues for you).

Get the good nutrition at a calorie level that helps you achieve and maintain a healthy body weight, and you're golden.

Martial arts isn't special. (I say this as someone who practiced MA for a number of years: My late husband was a kung fu teacher.)

In JJ, you might want to pay some attention to timing flatulence-causing foods so they don't plague you on the mat. Your training partners would appreciate that. Which foods cause flatulence carries by person, but one factor is that if you don't get enough fiber now, and decide to increase that, you want to do so gradually (with adequate fats and hydration alongside).

    Best wishes!
