summer shred?

Hello all.
It's been a minute since I've been on here. I lost ~30 lbs a couple years ago using MFP to track food and activity. I stopped tracking as diligently over the last year, started eating more intuitively and enjoyed living in a place with good food and beer. I've gained a bit of the weight I lost back, but it's not something I'm worried about. However, I would like to shed a little of that fat for summer. I'm just wondering how long I should I plan on being in a deficit for and how drastic of one I should be in.
I've been holding steady at ~150lbs for a year, looking to maybe drop to 140? Not too concerned about the number on the scale, just wanna shed a little fluff. I do CrossFit 4x a week but am fairly sedentary outside that, although I imagine that'll change as the weather gets nicer. I estimate I eat between 1800-2400 cals a day, but I'm just getting back to tracking to verify.
TL;DR How long should I look to "cut" for summer and how big should the deficit be?
TIA!

For the most reliable result, shoot for 8-10 weeks. I don't know what calories you're going for, but give your body at least 2 weeks to adjust and change your calories according to how your body reacts.
Additionally, don't pay too much attention to the scale. In my most recent cut, I got pretty lean (12-13%) and my weight barely went down a few pounds. This may be a little different for you depending on what your BF% is at now and what you're going for, but just keep in mind that its not just your weight that counts.1
