Stuck at my weight

So I am needing some words of wisdom or guidance of some sort. I feel as if I'm becoming obsessed with losing weight and when it's not happening it drives me crazy.

I started in mid January at 235 with a goal of losing a pound a week until reaching 195. I am currently on the Leangains fasting (16/8). I have been using myfitnesspal and according to this any every other calorie calculator... for 195 lbs at 6' and age 32 I should be eating between 2500 to 2800 per day. I eat at a deficit of around 1000 of that most days. I also started a strength training program three times a week and run sprints for 20 mins after each workout on the treadmill. This alone should put me in the pool as falling off of me category but I am not. In fact when I first started I increased to 237 and then settled back out. I have been losing a pound a week but I would have expected more in the beginning. This is my first week to miss the pound per week mark. I know my body is changing because I am able to wear my belt on the next hole in so that is at least good news.

My concerns are why did I not see the initial drop that most everyone sees when drastically changing their diet and exercise plan and now why does 228 seem to be a barrier for me? I am not going to quit or anything but I just want to make sense of what is going on. I understand water retention and all that and I'm not saying I'm plateu'd yet. I'm gonna tweak a few things and see if I can get back on track this week but any help is appreciated.

Do you use a food scale to weigh everything, and then log it religiously? No skipping, cheating, or forgetting? If not, start there.

Not everyone sees a large initial drop in weight. I never did, for example, it was gradual. And my bet is that it is at least partially explained by the fact that you started working out at the same time. Exercise can cause a lot of water retention (and a large initial drop of weight is usually due to the opposite, a loss of water weight).

I don't know how long you've been stuck on 228, but it doesn't sound like you need to get 'back on track', since your clothes fit better. And I would recommend taking measurements of your body, it's better to have different ways to measure progress.

If you are logging regular losses, and are satisfied with how you are living while working your plan, I’d leave things alone. Don’t mess with a good thing for the sake of a schedule. Schedules and weight loss do not go together.
