Not a person in sight, the only sound is the faint rattle of a rattlesnake...but where?3

A footfall2

*looks around*
...where - he/she can't place it1 -
There's a creek on the outskirts of town. Sometimes horses drink from it, but sometimes it runs red, and nobody wants to touch it because nobody knows why.2

Bremony Billson has a hunch1

Bremony looks at her note pad...wtf is going on?...1
-
Bremony wonders what is wrong with the water? Why are the animals shunning it?
...and who crept into town?...

The geese fly low, but will not land1
-
whats wrong with the water?0

It's a place that strangers visit, but never stay. The locals remain, but they hide their faces. Nobody remembers why it's like this, or when it became like this, but now it just is.1

And vague memories of the quarantine start to come to Bremonys mind...its been so long0

In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead
He was vicious and a killer though a youth of twenty four
And the notches on his pistol numbered one and nineteen more6 -
OH! Story time. Let me get my blankie2
-
He saw rain clouds gathered. He looked across the plain and knows it is today. Sees the riders, four then five. Someone will be dead.1

More and more tumbleweeds blow in along with white hot sandy air. The temperature keeps rising as any and all moisture is sucked from the earth. A long dark shadow appears suddenly as one of the larger tumbleweeds tumble away and a woman stands there in red leather. "Y'all look thirsty" she smirked.3

Ooooooo. Is the red water from her illegal tanning operation?2 -
I resolved to find answers so I approached the horses and asked one of them, "Why the long face?" He wouldnt answer but i noted despair in the horse's eyes, or if not despair, then something akin to him thinking in disbelief that some genius would try to interview a horse or think that horses had any idea as to why the water turned red. Although the horse was playing coy with the pretense of innocence, telepathically, he knew I was on to something. But what?3

a dark clothed stranger steps out from a shadowed alley.
he turns his menacing gaze upon a nearby stable boy
With a hoarse voice, he whispers, "I got the horses in the back; horse tack is attached. My hat is matte black; i got the boots that's black to match."5 -

Brother wanna thank your mother for a butt like that.1 -
There's an old well behind the Five & Dime, probably shoulda been boarded up long ago, but there's nobody left to care. Nothin in it anymore but dust, cause the wishes ran out years ago. Sometimes there's a howl that comes out of it that sounds like somethin straight out of a Preacher's darkest sermon, but everybody tries to pretend it was just the wind.4

Just then the sheriff rode up. "You boys in town lookin' for som'n in p'ticlar?"0

The Stranger rides in alone. As his quarter horse walks up main street, he feels the eyes of ghosts on him, but he pays them no mind. The air carries the scent of burned wood, and he feels the heat on his back once more. He rides past the cemetery, where ghouls shrink into shadows to avoid his gaze. Night will be here soon, but he rides for the dilapidated church at the south end of the small, dusty town.3

Rain clouds form just as the townsfolk thought they'd perish from the heat. One closes thier eyes and spreads their palms towards the sky beckoning. A single drop hits thier face and they smile as everyone else starts to scream not realizing that the sky is raining blood. They drop to their knees screaming but no one can save them now. This is the price you pay.3

Some say the devil lives here. Nobody argues.0

The church. Dilapidated and exhausted. Worn but comforting.. Once proud and bright, echoing the hopes and dreams of brighter days. It used to be a beacon of light But time spares no one and no thing casting shadows where none existed. The sun sets with shades of golden amber, promising the moon and it's cool guiding light. Transitions.2
