I have one of those mowers, and it sucks @$$. I burn about the same as a kickboxing class when I use it, but my burn would most likely not be the same as yours. You'd be better off using a heart rate monitor to get a better estimate.0 -

Sorry OP....LMFAO.
The reason you're getting these responses is because there are about a million different variables to contend with here. There really is no accurate answer to your question. Maybe just guesstimate 5-6 calories per minute...300-350 calories per hour would seem reasonable...I have absolutely nothing to back that up, but it would seem reasonable to me given my previous experience with my reel mower.0 -

I agree with that. I burned about 400ish calories in 50 minutes. My front yard is on a hill, though.0 -

that is a reasonable answer.
perhaps a bit touchy this morning but god damn it there are a lot of folks on here that seem to enjoy posting sarcastic comments (and some people are down right mean) to peoples real questions. im not an idiot, i just wanted some advice on how to calculate it. or even roughly guess it.0 -

I would go with what cwolfman suggested then, just to be conservative. You don't want to overestimate.0 -

He was just kidding around. No one was trying to be unkind to you, and no one thinks you're an idiot.
A Google search revealed this, but it isn't even close to being accurate, due to the many variables, as mentioned above.

you could sell the reel mower to pay for the heart rate monitor.0 -

Hi! I am one of those people that enjoy posting sarcastic comments, though the strike system severely limits my meanness.
Unfortunately there is no way to accurately log it, as distance, grade, lubrication of the bearings, sharpness of the blade, and moisture on the grass. I would personally log it as walking and maybe add 10% onto that. I am sure you arent looking for an exact science.0 -

Believe it or not, I've done that... when my old reel mower broke. True story, lol. It was only a tiny patch of grass next to my patio though.I have no idea how many calories I burned.0 -
