I plan to cancel all plans with any beneficial friends, as spreading germs is not a great idea right now.

Except for limiting my social plans because everything is being closed/cancelled, the only thing that I do differently is I'm using a lot more cough drops. It's Spring. I am allergic to Spring. I am congested and coughy but people freak out when you cough any where.

This AM work cancelled an event 2yrs in the making. Management that toiled over it are crushed. Most of my work this week has been for nothing, such is life. There's a rumour we might shut down for the month which would mean mass lay offs but whatever is, is.

Effecting every aspect plus my city was the first in Texas to have a oopsie (Let a positive patient go Mall shopping thank you CDC). All my family is in effected spots. In Alvin Tx no meat 🥩 so my kids godmom has no meat 🥩. My hubby drove 2hours away looking for supplies my mother-in-law to we needed. Took him 5hours he hit every store on the way got what he could find. A bag of baby wipes alcohol free for a baby (2 types of severe skin condition has to contain no alcohol).2hours away was diapers. His family didn’t believe him until they went out. He managed to get some of this y that so if need be we’re okay for a month. My Dad in a tiny country town in Texas said the big chains were out of bleach y tp. He got lucky found it at a tiny mom y pop store .

We been asked by the mayor y Govenor to stay inside please only go out for work y needs. So abiding by that been a month now so bored! Just bored 😐! Baby misses Chuckie cheese y McDonald’s. Hubby y me miss Starbucks to grabbing a quick bite. Some areas the Online sites are running out or low mines one of them now. Sent god mom a meat site y veggie delivery by mail to try as an avenue.

Family events like poor cousins graduation cancelled (cooking school to be a chef 👩‍🍳 Austin Texas was supposed to host it). Can’t see family as much which is hard cause they are terrible at answering the phone 📱 or emailing back to begin with.

Got blossoms on the orange tree again some oranges 🍊 left so excited for when their ready to pick size wise. Baby loving playing in the backyard blessed to have one.

More restaurants delivering is nice haven’t used yet but might. Ordered from eBay some stuff for baby 👶 from a pharmacy in a town I used to live. Who knows may have gone to school with them back in the day. So diaper like washable inserts to potty train with on the way.

Watched neighbors ,cleaned house, did the census online why not, eating cake y watching ghost hunters cause bored 😑 . Worry wart yesterday became a trying to laugh through the tears day. Today felt happy no reason weighed in lost more weight!! Yes!! Diets working! Got our home gym cleaned off. Baby 👶 going to celebrate birthday with only grandpa y us tomorrow so happy day! Birthday party was called off a month ago so only grandpa. My Daughter texted from the Nacy base still safe y good she found her cousin I raised he said the others I raised good healthy still even the grandkids. So calming to know.

Just looking for silver linings getting through what ever comes our way.

Staying strong for the family. Going to get through this . Might start reading old books in the garage or babies books next.Gots some fun pop up books lol 😂

Watching folks disagree with simple posts like
    “Went to work today”
Disagree!! Like they stalkin them lol 😂. You didn’t go to work I been watching vibes

Everything in public is closed and eventually much else. Strange to drive through the big city on a Friday night without any life in the city. For myself, it has the effect that the kids a home. Then in a week, Corona has 2 more on conscience  Otherwise, we can not train in the fitness center either. But what the heck, can't we buy the t-shirt on the other side ??

A few schools have closed where I am, a few big events as well (I'm down in southern AZ as well). I haven't been out in a few days, as I and one of my adult kids are both in the 'higher risk' category and, since we don't work outside the home, decided to just get 2-4 weeks of stuff and hunker down.

So I haven't seen what the shelves are like, although even a week ago, you could start seeing less quantity of some items on the shelves (like tomatoes - last week Walmart was running out of tomatoes and oiling the outsides of the tomatoes they had left, to keep them fresh longer).

I'm worried for my family. My brother works in a restaurant. My favorite aunt is in a nursing home (in CA), as well as lots of other family. My dad just got over pneumonia this winter, and isn't bothering with changing anything he's doing. My 21 year old kid has half a dozen diseases, and I'm really scared for her.

I am trying to garden more this year, with the expectation that I might really be thankful for that, if things got REALLY bad. And if they don't? I have fun gardening, anyway.

I look at Italy and what has happened there, with the 2nd ranked healthcare system out of 191 countries (when WHO ranked them). And I look at the USA, with the 37th, literally the lowest of all industrialized nations. And I think that what's happening in Italy is not as unlikely to happen in the USA as I would hope.

I worry about all the people who are going to be REALLY struggling, as their jobs and income are gone.

So...there is a lot of worry, and fear. Not panic, but especially after seeing the way our gov't has responded to this, I'm was not feeling hopeful.

But then today, I started getting emails from local businesses. My power company, my bank, etc... And THEY are all trying to help. Telling me what they are doing to try and protect employees, suggestions for ways to use their services that won't put me or their employees at greater risk, giving encouraging messages of trying to get through this together.

And...it reminded me that one of the things that's affecting me is a real feeling of community, too. Yeah, there's panicked buying by some. Some folks are honestly awful. But there's also people voluntarily giving up things they like to do, or want to do, just to protect others in their community, even if it has to be instigated by local people rather than at a national level. And that's actually been a nice reminder of some of the awesome things about humanity too...which I really, really needed today!

I didn't even need to buy anything.

I just went to 'hit on' all of the panicked housewives.

i'm sure they were comforted by your concern :D:*

Was given some work equipment to take home, just in case I'm needed to work at home instead of in the office.

Thankfully it hasn't really. I make a point to stay the *kitten* away from the type of people who panic buy toilet paper in response to a respiratory virus.
My kid has a 3 week long March break, half of which she'll spend at her dads. The rest of it we have flexible schedules so it's no big deal.

We hunt, fish and grow a lot of our food and I usually grocery shop for the rest once per month, which was done before people started losing their minds.

I work in healthcare so life is continuing as normal for me.

March 14th: The panic buying continues. Most cases in our state that have been tested have come back negative, but the government and military in the area has already ramped up its efforts at "combating" the illness.

Schools haven't closed (yet), but there is no toilet paper or hand sanitizer to be found, our open air events are being heavily monitored with disinfectants and sanitizer. DoD has officially sent out a memorandum restricting travel for anything non-essential. It applies to both the active duty and their dependents.

I'm steadfastly in camp "be prepared, but not crazy". I did not panic buy any supplies, but we have enough through regular purchases to get by for a few weeks. That's the nice bit about living in a hurricane state; you're already somewhat prepared (if you're smart about it).

I continue to monitor the process as it happens.

All I know that in addition to TP, people in my town are apparently hoarding bananas. I’ve been to 4 stores looking for them and they are wiped out and it’s annoying. People need to calm down.

I won't lie: I bought one bunch Thursday when I went shopping because mmmm, bananas. But there were plenty when I was there.

Tortillas and bread are gone now in addition to hand sanitizer, counter disinfectants and toilet paper.
