Fight-or-flight response slowing weight loss?

I have a theory that the constant, low-level anxiety surrounding the current situation is stalling out my weight loss. My husband and I work from home already, and we are well-stocked and healthy, but I feel like my body is always in crisis mode because of the constant worry about the situation. I tend to eat the same thing every day, which has provided a slow, steady loss in the past (I am still working off the holiday gain). If anything, I am eating less because my appetite is low, which happens for me in times of stress.

I worked with a doctor who explained it thus: If your fight-or-flight response is triggered, your body worries that it may not get another meal for a while, as much as possible, the food you put in will be converted to fat stores. So it follows that if I'm always in a low-level FOF, I'm not going to lose.

Anyhow, just thought I'd put it out there for those who are struggling now. I'm implementing lots of self-care and time away from my fondleslab, drinking water and spending quality time with my husband and son.

Be well, friends!
