Loosing pounds-not seeing a change.

So I’m curious as to the possible cause of weight loss but no visable change? I’ve lost 16lbs (9% of my starting weight). No inches lost-clothes fit the same-can’t tell a difference in the mirror. Muscle lbs have gone down as well as body fat mass according to smart scale. I’m 3 months in. Exercise has been daily aerobic, with strength sporadic. Diet has been varied-just staying at 1200 calories-not restrictive on carbs or protein. Shouldn’t 16lbs be more noticeable?

Smart scales are not reliable on body composition.

If you have lost 16 pounds you have changed but it is probably not in an area you are measuring. The first place I noticed weight loss was in my feet.

16 pounds lost is great. Just keep at it and trust the process. The results will start to come from your measured areas in time. I used to think of it as a travelling caravan of fat suckers. They'd move to my belly for awhile, then my face, then my legs, back to my belly for another visit, then arms, hand, and you get the idea. I said hand, singular, because for awhile one hand was visibly larger than the other. Fun times. It is doubtful it will be that dramatic for you. I started with a LOT to lose.

For some people, sixteen pounds is going to be a huge difference. For others, it won't be very evident at all. Not sure what your starting weight is, but that can be a factor . . . as well as where you tend to lose weight from first. But it sounds like you're making great progress!

Thanks so much! Started at 195-and I used to loose in my belly first and keep my legs and butt no matter what. But that was before babies. My current exercise is 90% my Peloton though so that probably is going to tone the lower portion eventually and slower on the mid section🤷🏼‍♀️. 😝

Thank you! I had 55 to loose to get to a healthy weight. So about 25% of that done seems like a big accomplishment-I guess I just expected to see it by now. But I see the point. I’ve most likely lost a little off every part just not enough off the hips and waist to make a measurable difference. 😆. My rings have felt looser-just not my pants.

I had about the same as you, if not a little more, I wanted to lose in the beginning. The first 20lb wasnt a noticeable difference. The next 20 was though! It will come. Its frustrating. And then you will start getting comments like "don't go too far, you don't want to be aneroxic" sigh.
