Hi, Esra. Don’t feel bad. We’ve all been there or we wouldn’t be here, am I right?
Weight loss for me has been very simple. Calories in should be less than calories out. I eat a reasonable amount less than I’m burning.
If you will go to your user profile, fill in your age, your activity level, you current weight, height, and goal weight. You don’t really have a whole lot to lose, so don’t go wild. Do something reasonable and attainable like half or quarter pound. Don’t do anything crazy like telling it you want to lose a pound or two a week, dropping to too- low calories. You’ll simply burn out out from lack of food and energy and probably ultimately pile on even more.
The calculator will tell you what your calorie goal is.
Then start filling out your food diary.
Weigh everything you eat. Don’t guess at the serving size. Servings are almost always much smaller than you think.
You can eat anything you want, as long as you religiously weigh, fill out that diary honestly, and stay under your calorie goal.
You’ll be confused at first. We all were. Read the threads in the boards here and feel free to ask any questions. There is NO question too dumb. I know, because I’ve asked some really oddball ones myself!
People here are friendly and helpful and want you to succeed.
Also, check out the Success Stories board. The NSV and the What NoOne Tells You About Weight Miss threads were inspiring and very helpful.
Best of luck to you! 😘

Hi Esra - I encourage you to talk to your doctor about medications that will help with your mental state but won't increase your appetite and so lead to weight gain. For example, for depression I take Wellbutrin, which is not associated with weight gain.
I also have anxiety. Regular exercise is crucial for my mental health, and in times of increased stress, like now, I increase exercise. Yesterday I went for a long walk in the woods and today I am going to plant pea seeds in my garden.
A few days ago I did some deep cleaning - dusted, moved furniture around so I could vacuum under it. This helped me feel calmer.
Here are two simple tricks that help me feel better - making my bed and taking a shower.
