If you guys track most of your calories and macros using the USDA database, you'll come to realize that most entries are grouped under 2 common categories: "Survey (FNDDS)" or "SR Legacy."
What are the differences between the two? Is SR Legacy supposed to be more accurate?

According to the FAQ section:
SR Legacy, released in April 2018 and formerly hosted on the USDA Food Composition Databases website, is the final release of this data type. SR Legacy provides a comprehensive list of nutrient and food component values that are derived from analyses, calculations, and the published literature.
Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies 2013-2014 (FNDDS 2013-2014) contains data on the nutrient and food component values and weights for foods and beverages reported in the What We Eat in America dietary survey component of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.0 -
My sense is that SR Legacy is what used to be the USDA nutrient database, and they're no longer doing the analysis needed for that, so they've combined the last update of that with all these other random databases.2
